Unity has included 13 distinct blockchain-based software developer kits (SDKs) in the toolkit, which include those from chains and applications like Algorand, Aptos, Dapper Labs’ Flow blockchain, Immutable X, MetaMask, Solana, and Tezos. Unity hopes to give game developers the tools they need to interact with Web3 gaming, an emerging cryptocurrency market.
Developers can include blockchain technologies like the metaverse and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to improve gameplay experiences using the Unity Asset Store decentralization storefront.
In a tweet, MetaMask stated that the gaming market is quickly expanding, and the Web3 gaming area is drawing substantial investment. They added that their inclusion in Unity will improve the game business with Web3 standards. It’s a brand-new age for game developers.
Developers of Web3 games have been waiting impatiently for Unity to reach the market with its own tools because they have already tailored their goods for the gaming engine. Prior to its March 2022 launch, Web3 gaming platform Joyride received $14 million to aid developers in using Unity to create their games.
The next October, ChainSafe, a provider of blockchain infrastructure, raised roughly $19 million with an emphasis on assisting game developers in connecting their projects to Unity.
